Philanthropy Spotlight: Chicano Federation of San Diego County

This month’s philanthropic client spotlight celebrates the Chicano Federation of San Diego County. The Federation’s mission is to invest in underserved communities through programs that promote self-sufficiency. They work to provide early childhood education, nutrition and affordable housing to families across San Diego. While their roots are in advocacy for Chicanos, they are dedicated to providing opportunities for all San Diegans in need, including immigrants and refugees.

Pro Back Office has been working with the Chicano Federation for approximately six months and during that time has helped to streamline and update their accounting practices so that they can focus on what matters most – the thousands of individuals and families who turn to them for assistance every day. The services they provide reach almost every aspect of families lives, from programs providing subsidized childcare for working families, to child nutrition and preschool programs, to the operation of nine affordable housing apartment complexes for families and seniors. Above all, they aim to be the helping hand hard-working families and individuals need to break the cycle of poverty and open the door to a successful future.

The Chicano Federation of San Diego County will celebrate its 50th anniversary this May. If you would like to learn more about the programs they provide or make a contribution, please visit their website: https://www.chicanofederation.org/
