Global Volunteer Month
April is Global Volunteer Month! At PBO Advisory Group, we are passionate about serving our community. Through various initiatives, efforts, and partnerships, our team regularly participates in community service and volunteer work that brings fulfillment to our office.
In 2017, PBO Advisory formed “PBO Serves,” a philanthropic committee whose mission is to build awareness and education about local needs through service, opportunities, and events to add value to our team and the community. Providing our team with resources and encouragement to participate in community service projects, PBO Serves continues to be an important element of our company culture.
Through our partnership with HandsOn San Diego, PBO Advisory continues to prioritize community service, helping our employees pursue their desire to volunteer in the community and meet our organization’s goals. A nonprofit organization that helps groups and individuals pursuing volunteer opportunities, HandsOn San Diego provides assistance in finding and scheduling service opportunities that align with specific goals and passions, bringing ease and convenience to the process by providing access to resources like their online volunteer calendar, which features a variety ways to stay engaged and give back to community groups and organizations.
PBO Advisory has collaborated with HandsOn San Diego to participate in a variety of service projects, including the recent revitalization of the Clairemont Branch of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego. Twenty-five members of the PBO Advisory team came together with a few members of our IT firm centrexIT to clear overgrown plants and leaves, remove cement pavers, and transform the outdoor area into a clean space for the kids to spend time.
Since community service is such an important part of our company culture, we want our team to feel motivated and excited about volunteering. To encourage our employees to continue their community involvement, we provide our team with a volunteer time-off policy, which pays them up to eight hours each year for time they spend volunteering with organizations of their choosing. We strongly encourage team members to utilize this policy to enjoy time away from the office while supporting causes that are important to them.
In honor of Global Volunteer Month, we extend our gratitude and appreciation for our team and their ongoing passion for service projects that promote growth and strengthen our community. We are so proud of all our employees for their commitment to giving back.
