PBO Advisory’s Consulting Chief Financial Officer for our nonprofit services Rick Dahlseid is known throughout our industry as THE individual nonprofit organizations turn to for high-level financial consulting. In fact, his expertise in nonprofits is so well known that when the REF CEO Forum was looking to reinvigorate its nonprofit peer group in San Diego, the organization turned to Rick – and what a smart choice that was.
REF, formerly known as “Renaissance Executive Forums, is a global organization that brings together peer advisory boards for top-tier business executives. Rick and his co-chair, Nancy Batterman, a business and nonprofit strategist and coach, began (re)organizing the nonprofit forum about nine months ago.
The Forum is a peer advisory group for CEOs and executive directors of nonprofit organizations. According to Rick, the Forum focuses on ” building a circle of trust among nonprofit leaders and providing resources to help each other face challenges, problem solve, and grow through the power of collective intelligence.” It is uniquely focused and facilitated to meet the special needs of nonprofit organizations, examining issues through a reality-based lens, to help members become better leaders, and deliver improved results for their communities.
The Forum’s second introductory meeting was held in December. It featured an educational presentation on human capital and talent management, which was moderated by PBO Advisory’s Consulting Chief People Officer Nicole Devine. Following the presentation, the members discussed HR management challenges and offered each other advice and support. The San Diego REF Nonprofit CEO Forum has seven provisional members, with total membership capping at 15. Service provider professionals, such as lawyers, insurance providers, etc., can become ambassadors to the Forum.
If you are interested in joining the Forum or would like more information about becoming an ambassador, please contact Rick for more information.
