Job Responsibilities As Senior Staff Accountant
Lee is responsible for meeting with potential clients to assess their needs and showing them how outsourcing their accounting can help them grow. She provides the clients with staff accounting support, setting up accounting software, reconciling and updating accounts as needed. She also assists clients with establishing their costs and profit margins while staying current with their tax obligations.
What Led Lee To Pro Back Office?
After a short hiatus from the business world working in Education, Lee was seeking a staff accounting position that would give her flexibility to work from home or onsite, as well as opportunity to grow. Lee was attracted to the fact that Pro Back Office is a leader in outsourced finance and accounting and has offices in the Phoenix area. She also liked that she would be working with different clients dealing with differing needs and challenges.
Lee has more than 20 years of experience in accounting from large privately owned to Fortune 500 companies in a variety of industries and has worked in financial institutions, manufacturing and agricultural based entities.
Favorite Part Or Proudest Moment About Working For PBO?
The largest project that Lee has been involved with is a software conversion for a local equipment rental and service based business. Lee enjoys being on site and working with the company’s accounting personnel to streamline the month-end close and financial reporting. She also worked to setup the chart of accounts for a remote sand quarry to reconcile the bank and expense accounts along with establishing the fixed assets and depreciation costs. Lee is currently providing accounting services to a few smaller entities including an internet startup as well as some larger privately held companies.
Any Interesting Stories About Your Background?
Lee was born and raised in the Midwest, lived in Washington State, then relocated to Arizona. One of her favorite positions was accounting of investments for financial institutions early in her career. She enjoys any fast-paced environment that creates change and opportunity for growth. While employed by a Fortune 500 manufacturing company, she was selected to represent the purchasing team on a software conversion project. Streamlining processes to reduce inventories to increase profits for such a large entity was very exciting.

“My husband and I reside on the edge of a small community here in southern Arizona and we have one grown son who lives in the Phoenix area. We provide a home to three rescue dogs; two pugs from Arizona Pug Rescue Network (APRN) and one shi tzuh that strolled in 6 years ago from being lost in the desert. I enjoy drawing and painting along with being an avid reader. We also enjoy traveling whenever the opportunity arises.” – Lee Oursler
