For this month’s employee spotlight, we’d like to recognize our exemplary employee Lisa Hosegood. Lisa, who has been with PBO for 11 months as a Controller, manages month-end close and produces financial statements for owners and CEO’s. If you don’t catch her working on those projects, you’ll probably find Lisa overseeing the day to day accounting, annual budgets, and accounting software conversions. Despite how many responsibilities Lisa is in charge of, she manages to execute each project phenomenally which has earned her both recognition and appreciation at PBO.
While Lisa tends to her duties, she still makes time to help her colleagues. In fact, Lisa enjoys mentoring her colleagues as a way to motivate herself to do better. She also stays motivated by reaching deadlines and constantly learning new things at PBO. Her driven attitude helps keep her focused so that she can take the next steps as Senior Controller. Lisa hopes to reach the next step in her career as Senior Controller while working closely with CFO’s in order to learn as much as she can to take on more responsibilities. Lisa enjoys the flexibility that PBO offers such as being able to work remotely. She also enjoys servicing multiple clients and the ability to learn about different and new industries.
Lisa notes that she is most proud of the supportive culture that PBO fosters. “The team at PBO is supportive and fun, and there is always a resource to reach out for questions.” Given that Lisa herself helps mentor others at PBO, it’s congruent that PBO has a great workplace culture that allows a safe space for learning as well as supporting each other.
Before she started her journey with PBO, Lisa lived in the Northeast and moved to San Diego with her family 3 years ago. When she’s not working, she’s spending time with her family which includes a 4 year old daughter and 7 year old daughter. As a family, they love to travel and try to make time for trips at least 2-3 times a year.
PBO appreciates all the hard work and dedication that Lisa puts into our office. We can’t wait to see her constantly cultivating a fun and hard working culture within PBO.
